A recent edition of Territory Q magazine has detailed Tipperary Station’s state of the art and recently commissioned solar power system. The 99 kWh solar system is integrated with the station’s generators and is only the second of it’s kind in Australia.
“Through the good work of Country Solar NT and with the assistance from the NT Government’s Smarter Business Solutions Program, we were able to successfully install a reliable system, which not only saves us money but also improves the environmental credentials of the station” said Tipperary’s Business Development Manager, Tom Polkinghorne. In addition to the domestic solar system installed at the home compound, Tipperary Group of Stations is also increasing the group’s solar footprint through installations of several solar powered bore pumps at livestock watering points across the station. Solar pumping specialists ReAqua have successfully commissioned Lorentz solar pumps which are proving to be another reliable source of clean energy generation.
